I know everyone is anxiously awaiting to see all the glorious details of the Royal Wedding this Friday. From the dress to the flowers and of course the bouquet are all being compared to the 1981 Royal Wedding of Princess Diana and Prince Charles. In keeping with the comparisons, Princess Diana held a long cascading bouquet of extravagant stephanotis, beautiful white roses and trailing ivy which was a classic timepiece for that era. Prince William and Kate's wedding is expected to be a much more modern version of his mother and father's nuptials, while still keeping with tradition. A more modern bouquet would still include stephanotis and white roses but with more florals rather than greenery. Kate may have an all-white bouquet, with only a slight cascade and incorporate various flowers.
Then....

Now...
We are very happy to announce that The Hidden Garden is expanding! We recently acquired the two retail spaces next door to our shop. This gives us the entire store front property facing Pico Blvd! We have been under costruction for a few weeks, but today the walls really starting coming down (literally). The wall separating the new space and our current residence has been officially knocked down! Take a look! We will be posting updates as we progress further into our expansion.
Stay Tuned!
Why We Love It:
Okay, technically we haven't seen them at the market....yet. But, I'm just so excited that they're coming I couldn't help myself. You may see them blossoming in private yards right now and we're anticipating the first shipment to hit the flower market next week. They are a stunning variation to the already beautiful iris. The bearded iris comes in several exquisite colors and blends that their appearance is absolutely striking. I promise you they will be in some of our weekly top arrangements!
The good times just keep on rolling this spring season. We got our first batch of peonies for the season, and of course all the designers couldn't wait to get their hands on them. There were also a few parties that we were able to get creative with greenery and ribbon treatments. Take a look at the whole package in this week's top arrangements!

Have you ever wondered what a day in the life is like here at The Hidden Garden? Well, this is your chance! The crew of Career Day set up shop in our shop and filmed our daily life.
Career Day showcases different careers on a weekly basis and gets a behind-the-scenes look into these professions for their viewers. The segment is airing THIS SATURDAY, April 16, 2011 at 1:00p.m. PST on KTLA. Hopefully, the viewers will get a real taste of all the hard work and dedication it takes to run a floral design studio along with all the beautiful flowers :) Don't forget to watch!
